Sleater-Kinney was formed in Olympia, Washington in 1994 by Corin Tucker and Carrie Brownstein (guitar/vocals), Corin Tucker (guitar/vocals), and Janet Weiss (drums). Time Magazine Writer, Greil Marcus, declared Sleater-Kinney as Americas best Rock Band in 2001. The name Sleater-Kinney originated from Sleater Kinney Road, Interstate 5 exit number 108 in Lacey, Washington. This was the location of one of their first practicing spots. After seven studio albums the band decided to split and focus on their personal music projects in 2006. In October 2014, it was announced that the band is back together with their new album called No Cities to Love, released in January, 2015.
